Ave, Caesar, emptum te saluto!
Rahne, did I get that right? An hour in the library, and I know I could've just asked Doug but that would be too easy. :)
How the heck did I agree to a day of clothes shopping? Oh, that's right, Kitty said "ooh!" at the prospect and I am a weak, weak man.
Do I get to save any manliness credibility if I end up with a leather jacket out of this?

Leather's the most manly of manly materials, Jamie. Save perhaps flannel, and even then, only if it's plaid.

So I don't lose my union card because I'm letting Kitty and Angie play dress-up with me all day, then?

Look at it this way - you're a big enough man to survive having them play dress-up with you all day. No revoking of you Guy Liscence for that. If anything, you get a gold star. Possibly also a Purple Heart, depending on how it goes.
x_crowdofone
March 6 2004, 11:35:56 UTC
That's a good point.
Plus there's a chance I'll be able to convince Kitty to at least try on some leather pants. I think I get bonus points for that.

See, there you go. Your street cred it safe.

It is -manly- dress-up. Denim and leather and white t-shirts.

It's still dress-up.
Are you guys covering the food? Because if I get free food, that's a whole other thing.

I am not sure. I told Doug I could cover his food, since he is going to provide moral support and because he has to at least consider my evil plan.
Kitty? Are we covering Jamie's food? I can chip in if you want.

Well, if you're paying for Doug than I'll happily pony up for Jamie to eat - even at his rates...

I can't believe you just lent any credibility at all to plaid flannel. Did it suddenly become 1994 and I missed the memo?
Yes, Jamie, leather will save your manly pride. Enough so that you could even wear a green dress with it and still be manly.
x_crowdofone
March 6 2004, 11:30:07 UTC
Hah. No green dresses, I specified. :)
What's wrong with plaid flannel?
x_shinobi
March 6 2004, 11:30:46 UTC
Plaid flannel is manly and rugged. I mean, lumberjacks wear it. How much more manly than that do you get?
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 11:31:27 UTC
Nothing if you are a lumberjack.
What about a teal dress?
x_crowdofone
March 6 2004, 11:36:56 UTC
No dresses of any kind. Besides, teal is weird.
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 11:47:31 UTC
Teal is not weird. Teal is a fine and noble color with a proud history.
What about sage?
x_crowdofone
March 6 2004, 11:50:14 UTC
Teal belongs on minivans.
Sage is one of those colors that's halfway between two other colors with nonintuitive names, isn't it? I'd just call it "green," wouldn't I?
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 12:21:20 UTC
Sage is a very gray sort of green. But calling it green takes all the nuance out of it.
x_rahne
March 6 2004, 12:57:16 UTC
Sage is the sort of green that smells and tastes better than it looks. *grin*

Tastes?
Re: ...
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 13:25:54 UTC
Of course, tastes. Sage is an herb, after all.
x_crowdofone
March 6 2004, 13:16:54 UTC
Nuance, huh? Sounds fishy to me.
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 13:28:04 UTC
No, those are narwhals. Nuance is a subtle difference or quality. A delicacy of shading.

March 6 2004, 13:31:20 UTC
Which is possessed by many different kinds of fish, probably including narwhals. So there.
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 13:45:02 UTC
Nuance is found in many things. Including color. Like sage. Which would look wonderful on you.

March 6 2004, 13:50:18 UTC
Sheesh, everybody wants a say in my wardrobe. I think there's sage in some of my Hawaiian shirts, if that helps.

A dress, Jamie. It would be really fun.

March 6 2004, 14:06:03 UTC
Yeah, for you.
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 14:09:13 UTC
Well, yeah but isn't that the point?
It would be fun for Kitty, too.
x_crowdofone
March 6 2004, 14:10:43 UTC
Yeah, but I can come up with other things that are fun for Kitty.
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 14:14:28 UTC
Right but don't you want her to have maximum fun?

You're not allowed to quote John Goodman when he's possessed by a demon. That's just freaky.
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 14:37:43 UTC
*giggles* It certainly sounds freaky, but I'm afraid the reference is lost on me. I didn't intend to quote anyone.
Hmm, maybe I /am/ John Goodman possessed by an alien, in that case.
x_crowdofone
March 6 2004, 14:45:42 UTC
From "Fallen." And demon, not alien. Good movie, you should watch it.
You're a lot better-looking than John Goodman. Also, a girl. I wouldn't worry. :)
x_polarisstar
March 6 2004, 14:56:47 UTC
Demon, right.
Looking it up on IMDB, it looks okay. Denzel is always a good thing. Well, in '98 he was.
A viewing shall have to be arranged.

Tomorrow? Have it on DVD.
I'll bring plenty of snacks. :)

Snacks are...we'll see.
