Some advance warning
Feb. 20th, 2004 01:18 pmAngie and Alison and I think it's stopped being helpful to tackle Doug every time he looks at his computer (okay, so not literally tackle, I haven't had to sit on him for nearly 24 hours) so we talked to Dr. McCoy and he helped us customize the filter on the kids' journals, and we're letting him back on the system.
Basically, he can't see anything about recriminations or blaming people or arguments, or . . . there's enough it'd be awkward to list everything, but stuff like my rant and that whole argument, and Mr. Marko's last post, and anything that mentions finger-pointing or hostility, stuff like that. Do I like censoring him? No. But better he be censored than the alternative.
So he'll be back on the journals, pretty much so people can tell him they don't hate him and they wish him well. Anyone saying anything that even smells like blaming him, any intrusive questions, anything that is not "hey, Doug, happy to see you," and the like, you get fed to Alison, I don't care who it is, staff or student. And she's awfully cranky. Pretend he's got a giant "FRAGILE: THIS END UP" sticker on his forehead. We just got him halfway convinced the lynch mob isn't baying at the door and I don't wanna have to do it again.
And don't mention the filter, we didn't precisely tell him about it. This post is filtered too, obviously, so if you have any questions, let us know here.
Angie's getting him into Doc Samson's very first open slot today, if anyone was wondering.
And, uh, Em--just so you know, we kind of went through his e-mail just in case, and he'll get yours back . . . later. A lot later. Sorry about the invasion of privacy.
