Already had three parents call me and say their kid wasn't going to be in HeliX anymore. Can't blame them, either.
Everybody make it back here okay? Kitty, Clarice got you back fast enough, right?
gnh. Okay, I should probably say, for the people who didn't turn on the news yet, apparently the FoH also thought a youth club would be a good idea, and our local chapter of the FoH Scouts are doing real well toward earning their "arson" and "being assholes" merit badges. They burned down the Coffeequake because that's where we meet. Met. Dammit.
And did anybody else think it took the fire department a hell of a long time to get there?

Fire department's usual response time is three and a half minutes, anywhere. They post it on their training schedules, that's the standard for a simple house fire. This was a four-alarm blaze in the making, and nothing showed up for fifteen goddamn minutes.

This is what I'm saying.
You did great with those hydrants, if I didn't say it then. I'm gonna be wringing water out of my ears for the next week, but at least the fire didn't spread while the people who were supposed to be taking care of it were catching up on their soaps.

It's a good thing the cafe was near two close intersections. I have water soaked in everything, I can't feel my foot (the prosthetic, mind you, not the real one) because there's a short somewhere, but - it needed to be done. ]
Fifteen minutes! That's not negligence, that's INTENTIONAL.
