HeliX meeting on Saturday, all. I think we should do a fundraiser--car wash, or something--to help raise money to rebuild the Red Cross/Red X office that got bombed, because every little bit helps. So start thinking of ideas, and we'll talk about it then. :)

I'm in, whatever we end up doing. Red X's a good thing, and I'm not letting these bastards stop it.
Maybe those of us that have powers that could be used for that could do a sponsored something...? Different things for different people, maybe, according to what your power is.

Maybe. Depends on what we end up deciding on for a fundraiser--we don't want to scare away business, and this is just sort of getting our toes wet.
We need to settle on a T-shirt design, too, so we look good when we're out there.

Well, maybe not sponsored powers on the actual fundraiser thing, but we could have a day of it around the mansion, raise a bit more money that way?

Maybe. The point of HeliX is to do things out in public, though--this Red X thing is just . . . I don't want to say "convenient," but it's not the whole point. I don't want to get the two groups confused just because a bunch of us are in both, you know?

The Boy Scouts have this "Bob a Job" thing where they go out in small groups and do chores for people for a couple of quid. How about a couple of groups of mutant and non-mutant doing something similar around town? Could be a way of earning money for the Red Cross and get to show people that Powers Can Be Useful!
*looks at the dropped jaws*
What? I had a foster brother who was heavily into the whole Scout thing. Doesn't mean I was one or anything...

That's a good idea. I dunno how well it would work without the aegis of an organization like the Scouts, but we could definitely give it a try. Do you mind writing down what you can remember about how that stuff was organized, and bringing it to the meeting?
We always just mostly sold popcorn and Christmas wreaths when I was in Scouts and we needed money.

Gah, writing. Okay, I'll see what I can come up with. And as far as getting some kind of official permission, what-have-you, what if we contacted the Red Cross, told 'em what we were considering for fundraising for RedX? I know HeliX is different and separate, but lots of separate groups do fund raising under the name of one bigger one.

You're going to ruin your reputation, you keep coming up with good charitable-cause ideas like this. :) And you don't have to write it down if you don't want, I just thought that'd be an easy way to get all your thoughts about it in one place.
Can't wait to see what we come up with when all of us are around. This could be the best meeting yet. :)

Rep's already screwed, might as well continue the downward slide. *grins*
Writing don't come natural to me as a way of ordering me thoughts - never has. I'm getting better, but my first reaction is still "gah, writing". *grins* I'll jot down some notes to make sure I don't forget nothing, but I'm happier telling people at the meeting. Provided that dippy blonde bint doesn't complain about me accent again. *rolls eyes*

Who, Kristen? Eh, she's okay aside from the dippiness. Not an idea person but she's got a lot of energy, at least.

*nods and grins* Yep, she definitely has energy.

whenever we had to raise money for stuff at school we sold either candy bars door to door or gift packages with wrapping paper and stuff.
I'll try anything

You're a brilliant man, roomie. Goes without saying that I'm in for whatever. Something needs to be done to show those idiots that bombed the Red X office that they can't keep us down with their bigotry.

You could have a bakesale! There were a group of girls selling goodies at the mall when I went with Angie awhile back and they seemed to be making money. Besides, you make good cookies.
What exactly is HeliX, anyway? I know you guys do stuff, but I'm not sure what?
