Okay, so it looks like I picked the worst day ever to spend asleep. I hate this stupid cold. If anyone has time and opportunity to explain what happened, there'll be one of me in my room, since somehow I get the feeling it's way too long a story to summarize on this thing.
That leaves five. Who needs help?

I'm not that sick. And I'm wide the hell awake now, so I might as well pitch in.
Where's/how is Kitty?

You _are_ that sick, but I have learned the hard way that I can't outstubborn you.
And I don't know much about Kitty. I know there's a lot of people in the Medlab, but I've mostly been concentrating on keeping Miles and Artie sane.

Doug, I've had three days of bed rest and I don't even want to think about how much sleep. My head isn't stuffed up anymore and I haven't used a Kleenex in half an hour. This is the longest I've ever had a cold, but it's pretty much gone the way of the dodo. I'm awake as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore. :)
I'm gonna buzz by the medlab, see if the docs have enough volunteers already, and if she's not there I'm pulling out the Amazing Girlfriend-Finding Radar. Will also come help you with the kids. And unless you've developed the ability to talk to my sinuses and they're lying to me, you don't get to argue.

They probably won't let you in if you're still contagious, although the monitors are outside the sterile areas.

Angie-
I'll be down to spell you on the monitors and make sure you get some sleep after I get the kidbits settled down.

If they still need me once everyone is stable, I'll be fine for a few more hours yet.

You _will_ get some sleep. I don't care if your mutant power makes you need sleep less or whatever. I'm coming down in a couple hours after Jamie and I (and maybe Rahne) settle the kids.

I will sleep when I am tired. I promise.
Or when they kick me out because they don't need help. Whichever comes first.

I'm still coming down to check on you.

Doug, I don't need that much sleep anymore.
I could use someone to talk to though. This is boring, and scary.

That doesn't change the fact that you _do_ need sleep.
And in that case, I definitely promise to be down once the kids are settled.

Jamers-
I'm taking charge of kidlet patrol. Muppet movie marathon in the Commons, with milk and cookie runs, etc. Could probably use at least one dupe to ride herd, if you're set on allowing that cold to take up residence.
x_rahne
February 26 2004, 21:49:21 UTC
I'll come "ride herd." It may be hopeless to stop it, but there's no point encouraging the cold to spread.
I can't help in the Medlab right now anyway; I'm useful sometimes, but I'm not good enough to barge in in the middle of an emergency and not be in the way. Sounds like you need more help than the doctors do right now anyway.

I'm going to keep saying it until you people listen. I'm over the cold. I'm frankly surprised it hung around this long. And I'm coming to help.

Okay, okay. I'm just in overprotective worry mode, and that includes you.

Yeah, I figured. I'll be fine, and I've got my juggling stuff and a bunch of favorite books and things, so I can deal with the kids, if you want to go find Angie and smack her with the full might of the Doug Ramsey Mother-Hen Stare. :)

Oh, I will, believe me. Just as soon as I help you and Rahne gather up the littleuns and get The Muppet Movie on.

Kermit makes everything better. Good call.
x_cypher
February 26 2004, 22:26:15 UTC
Well, unless you're Everett. ;-)
But if you're Miles, Kermit especially makes everything better.
So yeah. Gather kids, get movie started, mother hen Angie. I'm always at my best when I have a little list. ;-)

Your call, Rahne. Personally, from what I've heard you say, I think your first-aid skills are probably pretty good by now. And the doctors could probably use you to treat cuts and scrapes while they worry about Remy and so forth. But again, it's your call. I'm sure the kidbits would love to have you.

Amanda mentioned something about wounds having poison, magic, or (this may be closest) poisonous magic in them that kept them from healing, but I think the worst of that's taken care of. Dr. McCoy didn't want a lot of people around the medlab; I got a few of the minor injuries though. Mostly by standing just within visual range and waving if the doctors looked harried about somebody who'd walked up.
I think I've done about all I can there, though, so I'll come see if anybody wants fur to cuddle.

Sounds good to me. I'm sure there'll be more than a few willing cuddlers. :)

Hell happened. It was not as scary as I thought it was going to be, though.
