Comedy Night!

Thanks to somebody's nifty birthday present I have George Carlin, Dennis Miller, some Marx Brothers, and (ta-da!) some Abbott and Costello on DVD, and I'll be screening them tonight around eight. Snacks will be provided.

Also, once we're done watching the first DVD (probably the A&C, they're my favorite) and everybody's in a laughing kind of mood, you'll get the chance to see the first-ever public performance of "Skippy the Evil Overlord," starring Jamie Madrox and Illyana Rasputin, which I think is probably not a flop now that I've finished tweaking it. Come watch 'Yana, anyway, she's too cute to be allowed.

Hmm. And while I'm thinking about it, I could use a last-minute verdict from the world's most adorable test audience. ;) Skippy: wearing a bucket on his head, or not? There's one out in the gardening shed that fits pretty well.

Well, the bucket would highlight My legions of terror will have helmets with clear plexiglass visors, not face-concealing ones, but it'd be more fun to put him in either a Mongol hoard style furry hat or a roman gladiator costume (it's not a skirt, it's a toga!) for I will hire a talented fashion designer to create original uniforms for my legions of terror, as opposed to some cheap knock-offs that make them look like Nazi stormtroopers, Roman footsoldiers, or savage Mongol hordes. All were eventually defeated and I want my troops to have a more positive mind-set.

Well, I was actually sort of thinking of Ms. Blaire's bit of computer art with the bucket, there. Sort of a satire thing. Good point, though. And there is that bit where Skippy has to be reminded not to shoot the messenger who comes to tell him the fashion designer is late.

Hmm. Do we have a Mongol furry hat and a toga? Because I can have a legionnaire of doom in the background.

The toga is very easy, we'll just use one of sheets off somebody's bed. Piotr might have a fuzzy hat, but if not we might be able to mock one up...

Heh. Well, my dad managed to survive my uncles. To hear them tell it, quality control is an important older-brother duty.

To hear my mom tell it, three idiot brothers is about five too many. ;)

Well, they've been making noises about maybe coming up to visit for a couple of days around Christmas or New Year's, so I'm sure you'll get the chance.

Once I get through frisking them for incriminating baby pictures, that is.

He does. Had different voices for all the characters in the bedtime stories he used to read when I was a little kid.

Yep. They wanna see all the things I've been telling them about, and probably also make sure you know what I look like stark naked, one year old, upside down in my toybox covered in lotion. ;)

It's still pretty up in the air, they might have to postpone it if there's an emergency at the farm or a lot of sick animals in the area, and I should make sure it's okay with the Professor a little closer to, but they definitely want to come visit.

Yeah, mostly before our first date but a couple times since then. They've already done this part without screwing up, see. :)
