Man oh man did they do a good job. I mean, Minas Tirith . . . and then the Rohirrim cavalry charge, and Merry and Pippin . . . and Sam. Holy cow, how much does Sam rock?
Go see the movie.
Man, I can't believe it's going to be a whole year until the extended edition comes out. Now that's gonna be some kind of impressive.
. . . y'know, it's hard to believe my parents are actually going to be here tomorrow. I wonder if they've seen the movie yet? Maybe they'll want to go while they're here. That would be cool.

Yes. It was sweet. I find it amusing that of all the heroes in the piece, the two people who do the most ass-kicking in the movie are the prettyboy elf and the girl.
And even though I knew what was coming with Sam, I very nearly bawled like a baby at that point. So sue me if I'm overemotional. :)
