I have to wear a suit? On top of everything else? Nobody said anything about suits. I don't think I even have a--oh, wait, my mom's here, so I probably do.
The me on the drums isn't going to be wearing a suit, that's for sure. Or at least I'll take the jacket off.
Suits.
If there's any quicker way to make a guy jumpier about the evening than the prospect of a suit, I don't want to know what it is.

Suits can be fun sometimes. If it helps, I bet Kitty will like it. ;)

Yeah, but what if she doesn't, that's the point. What if it, uh, rips, or something, or it gets stuff spilled on it? Suits aren't always as good as you think they are when they're hanging in the closet.

I... think Kitty would probably like it even if it was... ripped or stained.
...Are we really talking about suits? You're getting awful worked up, if we are...

I'm just not a big fan of suits, that's all.

You could get dress pants and a suit jacket, and a nice silk blend t-shirt. Actually, two shirts, one for playing, one for the party.
I have seen people wear it before and look good, and it would keep you comfortable while you were playing. It is semi-formal, but relaxed, and I think that if you found one that fit right, it would look good.
Dark green shirt, charcoal pants and jacket. Not black, for you, I think.

...That does sound nice.

Yeah, but then I'd have to go clothes shopping, and that way lies madness.
And I'd have to take the jacket off to play either way, I need my arms free.

That is why, two shirts. In case you overheat and get all icky in the first one.
Clothes shopping is not that bad. If you go with us this evening, you get to see Kitty try on all kinds of nice dresses.

It's not a sweat thing, it's an arm movement thing. Suit coats are a little restrictive.
. . . And what, bribery now?
. . . really good bribery . . .

That is why it is a silk blend T-shirt and not a long-sleeved shirt.
Short-sleeved button down shirts look dorky, but on the right person, a T-shirt can look good. You have the build for it. You get it in a silk blend so that it looks formal.
And yes, bribery. I am not above bribery.
I am above offering to eat a corndog, though, regardless of what Jubilee is suggesting to me.

Yeah, the shirt is fine, all I'm saying is I'd probably end up having to hang the jacket on the back of my chair, because if it's buttoned raising my arms would be awkward, and if it isn't the side things on the jacket will be flopping around getting in the way.
And you're pretty good at bribery.
And you found my mom.
I think I'm going clothes shopping. Unless I get hit by a falling satellite.

I believe that you can get a suit that is designed to not be uncomfortable when you raise up your arms, although it might be hard to get at the last minute.
I am sure that if there were satellites that were going to hit you, that someone would dispose of them first. We have more than a few people who could.

Yeah, and we don't need to go to all that trouble when I'll be behind all the drums and everybody anyway and there'll be a me in the whole suit out in the main club.
And yeah, you're probably right. I just thought of that because that's what happened to my friend Guido's parents. Made pretty big news over here at the time, Mom and Dad said, because it's the only time that's ever happened, and the government ended up having to pay Guido's family a lot in damages.
Which is probably one reason he's been in college for six years, he likes the classes and doesn't care about tuition.

I feel very silly right now, because I forgot that there would be more than one of you.
I think you could get away with just the shirt and dress pants, as long as you wore the jacket in.
.. what happens if one of you has a jacket, and one does not and then you un-dupe?
----
Good god. That is horrible! Poor Guido.

...Why? I'm worried about the idea of the dresses, but that's because they're not always very modest. Suits are modest.

Well, they're kind of uncomfortable, for one thing, if you don't wear them a lot, anyway. And they look weird. And it's a lot of work, and then you don't even know for sure if you can pull it off.

If you grow up in jeans and T-shirts, they do.

I always think you look good when you get all snazzed up. Besides, you're going to need to look nice to match whatever I end up getting on the SHOPPING trip. *grin*

Hope you like it. I mean, that's the whole point.
