I knew I was forgetting something.

See Angie's post, I got maybe fifteen minutes more than she did, I think, and that only because either I'm hallucinating or I really am learning to sleep in shifts.
I was going to mention this, uh . . . well, Monday, but, y'know. Anyway, if there's anyone who's still interested, I got about eight kids--a couple of Kitty's ballet classmates, some of their friends from the high school, and I happened to mention it to Mr. Roth the other day on the phone and he said he'd draft some of his grandchildren--interested in figuring out how to improve human/mutant relations, and I figured the best place to start would be by getting to know each other, so there's a thing at the Coffeequake in Salem Center around noonish on Saturday, first round's on me. Should just be mostly social with some brainstorming about places to picket, but hey, making friends is a good thing.

I'll go if I can get an image inducer.
no sense causing needless panic if I don't have toRe:

Whatever you're comfortable with. I did tell everybody some of us might look a little odd--and I'm sure however many Roths are coming know all about my dupes, at least, so they'll be at least semi-prepared for weird--and I think it'd be cool if eventually you were okay going as yourself, but if you'd rather use the inducer I'll help wheedle Doc McCoy.

...I might turn it off. maybe. but...baby steps

Oh, yeah, totally. Whatever you're comfortable with.
I have this recipe for chocolate Twinkie dip I've been saving in case I ever needed on the doc's good side, you want it?

help me make it? I'm more of a "nuke the sucker and go" kinda cook.

Sure. It's actually a nuke-it-and-go kind of recipe, actually. Sort of like fudge, only runnier.

I'm pretty sure I'm free then. I'll be there.

OK. Gonna be asking the Professor about borrowing the van if there ends up being enough of us, so I'll drop a note Saturday morning or something.

I'll see you there.
And you know what? Second round's on me.

. . . Thanks.
And, y'know, same to you as I said to Clarice, totally up to you whether you want to show the wings or not, I tried to prepare 'em the best I could over the phone.

I will be there if I can. Do you think we can drag Doug out with us?

I think we darn well ought to try. Some normal teenagers he doesn't see every day might be good for him.

Hey, chickpea. So long as they serve tea there too, I'm there. Aw, heck, I'm there even if I have to drink... gulp... coffee.
Yay, making friends.

Coffee's good for you, poppet. Besides, maybe they'll have mocha, and that isn't coffee so much as it is chocolatey goodness.

Coffee is gross. Ew.

I don't speak coffeeshop--Angie, remind me to bring that up when we gang up on Doug later ;)--but they do a pretty good cup of cocoa. Marshmallows, whipped cream, and cinnamon. Glad you're coming.

But you sure speak my language. Glad I'm coming too. Thanks for the opportunity.

I don't either.
I will write that down. I .. fear that Doug, if motivated properly could talk us out of letting him go, and that worries me a little.
If I can push my power when worried, he could too.
I have to stop thinking about these things.

I didn't think about that. Wonder if he could?
Eh, I'm from Kansas, we out-stubborn tornadoes. Doug is a lot less convincing than a tornado, he just has a bigger conversational range than "Get out of the way now unless you want to see what three counties over looks like from half a mile up." :)
